[ his thoughts drift to the iron maiden, to aigis, and he tries to imagine her face-- unaware of the fact that he's starting to drift into her subconscious. ]

( Aigis is in the middle of a strategy meeting with a few other Shadow Operatives when she hears a voice calling her. )

Minato...?

( She responds without thinking, until noticing the stares amongst her. Giving them an apologetic smile, she exits the room. )

Please excuse me for a moment.

( Honestly, she's not sure why she found this necessary. She's being silly, hearing things. But either way, she thinks she should take a moment to check her systems for any abnormalities and to calm down ever so slightly. Upon making her way to a bathroom with a small charging station in place for emergencies, the mechanical maiden sighs, an emotional response not relevant to her needing to check for viruses. And then for a moment, an image flashes within her head. It's similar to when she accessed Labrys' memories, but this time the image is not of the beach or even of one of her former sisters. Rather... it's of him. For her memory bank to randomly access archived data of his voice and profile, she must truly be malfunctioning. She sighs once more, wondering if it's something serious or if Fuuka-san was right about her overworking herself. )

Perhaps, I should join Mitsuru-san on her next vacation...

( It was over, it was finally over. With Minato's guidance SEES had battled their final foe and as Aigis deals the last blow, she smiles. She was able to protect those she cared about, and the world they care for. She had served her purpose.

But when the battle ends, the world becomes dark despite her analysis showing that her vision was functioning fine. There is no sound, no cries out from her friends, nothing. This is odd, she thought surely someone would have made a victory cheer or a gasp of surprise at the darkness. Yet... nothing. Perhaps they are too tired, she decides.

Eventually, she is able to see again. ... Strangely, the dark hour has not passed. It should have ended with the destruction of Nyx, yet... Aigis glances around her, about to ask her friends their thoughts on the situation, but she is alone.

On further examination, alone is not correct. A shadowy form is in front of her, in place of where it once stood. The darkness subsides... revealing him.

None of this makes sense. )

At first, Ryoji had thought their determination to be inspiring, but he's starting to think it was just foolish optimism, because he'd been right all along. It was painful, fighting against them- the onslaught of attacks, yes, but the loss of his sense of self ( though it shouldn't have existed to begin with ) was the worst, not even being able to stop himself against them. Even when he breaks into his 'normal' form, though, a new pain is tearing at his chest when the outcome of the situation begins to register. ]

So this is how it is, then..

[ His sinking shoulders rise with a start at the detached voice, but he's not really that surprised she's managed to pull through. She's much less fragile than the rest of them, so of course.. ]

I had told you from the beginning, hadn't I..? This is the opening ceremony for the end of humanity.

[ the name of this boy in front of him... is? he looks vaguely familiar, but it's ripping his head apart when he tries recall why. the only feeling he gets is a cold, silver pistol, and then it fades away.

yukari and junpei have wandered off elsewhere to their clubs for the evening, and leader of sees is alone. for some reason, they sounded awkward and strange. the relationship between them- why doesn't he remember anything that happened this year? he frowns again as the searing feeling is back in his head. ]

[ kido strolls by an old hideout and frowns as the memories jump her like static electricity. they are all vague flashbacks, but especially vivid is the one where everyone was running out and the days after where no one ever came back anymore. the details are fuzzy, however, so kido doesn't think upon that anymore.

she sucks in her breath, and walks herself in, surprised she still remembers the routes of everything as she sits down on a still-warm couch. did... someone still live here? she immediately stands up, using her power and making for the door.

she doesn't know what will be here, but there's no way it can be good. ]

( It's after one of Momo's concerts and she's rather tired. Things have been going great for her and she actually landed a world tour. This concert was her first one back in Japan after traveling away for months. She can't remember why, but there is a reason it was scheduled in this city. Maybe her manager's daughter lives here? Whatever, it doesn't concern her. She just wants to get to a hotel ASAP.

The idol yawns as she exits the stage door, running into some idiot who was standing right outside. There's something familiar about him, but she can't place her finger on it. Oh, he's probably one of those stalker fans. She sighs. Why is it always the creepy boys who like her and not the super cute ones? )

[ it's harder to disappear than he had once thought it to be a week prior when straightening up his room, leaving before the sun even had a chance to rise. he decides on taking only small essentials with him and leaving notes in their places of absence, bare bone farewells in a quick, messy scrawl, but otherwise leaves the hideout untouched.

what he doesn't count on is the seeping loneliness he fights when his phone lights up with a parade of missed calls and unread messages, so figures he at least owes them the peace of mind that he's alive.

stationed in an old phonebooth closer to the edge of town, he feeds the machine change and dials a familiar number into the beaten keys. ]
