then again, it's always been quiet. pharos fades into the room, his back illuminated by the moonlight casting in through the window and stands there at the foot of the bed.

the protagonist is still sleeping, he sees. ]

Well, it is the middle of the night...

[ he'll wait, standing there, until the main character wakes up.

pharos has news. ]

[ It's a rather uncomfortable feeling when Pharos enters his room, and he's awakened by the boy's presence almost immediately. Minato stirs from his bed, rolling to his side before rising, but not bothering to climb out out of blankets. ]

"What is it this time, Pharos?"

[ His voice is hushed, light, for fear that Takaya and Jin might still be up. There's.. some time before the full moon, right? It's not like Pharos to visit on such a strange schedule.

His interest is piqued when he remembers Pharos said goodbye to him, a couple of months before. What's he doing back now? ]

oh no

[uninvitedly]

Good evening.

[ a slight smile on his face -- small, faint -- with a quiet voice to match.

he motions to sit at the edge of minato's bed ]

I've news for you.

[fractus]

[ News? Minato quirks a brow. It could be anything, at this point. ]

"Alright."

[ He leans back slightly, against the head of the bed. ]

"Out with it."

[uninvitedly]

[ sideglances ]

It seems that one of your friends has disappeared.

[fractus]

[ Righhht, as if he expected Pharos to give him a straight answer. ]

"You aren't gonna tell me who?"

[uninvitedly]

Are you sure you want to know?

[fractus]

"Yes.

Were you expecting me to say no?"

[uninvitedly]

Not at all. I might have thought you would want to find out for yourself.

[fractus]

"It'll save me some time if you just tell me what's going on, Pharos."

[uninvitedly]

He's gone.

[uninvitedly]

[fractus]

"Come again?"

[ Not that he doesn't believe you but it's not your style to be so direct about things. ]

[uninvitedly]

Ah, are you having trouble hearing me? Perhaps you aren't quite awake yet?

"Geting back on topic.

What do you mean, Ryoji disappeared?"

[uninvitedly]

It's just as I said. He's gone.

[fractus]

"I meant, cause of disappearance. Is he dead? Just missing? Kidnapped?

Or am I asking too much?" [ Getting tired o' your shit, Pharos. ]

[she's never been an especially heavy sleeper, even less so since the move to Iwatodai -- and no matter how quiet the approach, Minako knows the familiar presence in her room before she's even finished rubbing the sleep from her eyes.]

Pharos..?

[as unusual as his comings and goings were, even considering her own nightly activities, his presence had never managed to perturb her... but she felt uneasy for some reason.

what had happened to goodbye?]

[uninvitedly]

[ a face he's particularly fond of seeing. he's glad she's awake now, but he really wouldn't have minded if it took her a while to notice he was here ]

I'm sorry to disturb you so late.

[femsees]

It's fine--

[the reply is out of her mouth before she even really thinks about it--they're friends. even with the strangeness of this particular visit (the full moon wasn't for a while yet, she was sure) Minako wouldn't turn him away because she needed a little beauty rest.

[she's curious.]

[uninvitedly]

It seems that something has gone wrong.

[ lowered eyes, a rather melancholic face ] Someone close to you has passed away tonight.

[femsees]

[well if that doesn't make her sit to attention.]
